Thursday Means it's Almost Friday

Hello everyone,
I wanted to comment on the book that I'm reading this week. It's called "The Ha-Ha" by Dave King and this is his first book. I am really liking it and recommend it to everyone even though I'm only about a third of the way into it....he's a great writer that kind of pulls you in right away and the chapters are short....which is a bonus. It's about Howie, who had a traumatic brain injury in Viet Nam when he was 18 and the book takes place 30 years later when his girlfriend from high school asks him to watch her 9 year old son while she's in Rehab for cocaine addiction. Howie can't speak and actually can't read or write but thinks in the same way that everyone else does....so you can imagine the challenges that he faces. I'll give you more information as I get into the book a bit more but I really like it. My mom read this book last year and suggested it to me. I'll tell you what a "Ha-Ha" is the next time I blog. Happy Thursday to you all!

Hi Barb!!

You're right!! Thursday DOES mean almost Friday!! Can't believe your blog was written already a week ago!! I am enjoying your updates on your books AND I am quite impressed that so far, you are keeping up with your book challenge/progress. I might be able to agree to read one magazine a week, but an entire book??!!! I would have to wait probably until next year!! Still, I can appreciate what you are doing as well. I think by reading your blog, I am going to appreciate reading more of the books that you suggest. You know, my favorite is still that one about Henry and how he kept dropping into scenes nude...sadly, my early Alzheimer's keeps me from the name of the book...I'll sleep on that, but I know they were going to make a movie out of it which I know I can't wait to see!! Well, thanks for keeping up with the blog. I am a daily reader :)

ah yes, I loved The Time Traveler's Wife! I think Brad Pitt is playing the part of Henry in that movie. That will be fun to watch!
